Management Team
John Cowie – President
John is Adlure’s founder, senior web strategist and development project leader. His areas of special focus include application development for rich media, e-community, mobile and e-marketing (social networks). John’s client-centric vision for the Web lies in its ability to cultivate opportunities through connection. He is committed to harnessing this potential to facilitate commerce, social activism, knowledge and new media applications that positively impact the communities they serve.
Michael Ryan – Vice President, Strategy and Client Development
Michael brings to Adlure over 25 years of executive leadership, advisory and operating experience. His career spans the technology, new media, online publishing and strategic business consulting sectors.
In addition to his new roles with Adlure, Michael continues to provide oversight to his business advisory and social marketing firms. Started in 2002, both companies have successful track records in digital television, social branding, business and communication strategy, web platform development and interim operational management.
He was the founder (1996-2001) and co-leader of KPMG Consulting’s, e-business practice (Digital Strategies) in Canada. The practice specialized in digital brand creation, online marketing and new business incubation.
For the previous for six years, beginning in 1990, he was Vice President and General Manager of Globe Interactive (now part of CTVglobe Media). He conceived The Globe and Mail New Media Centre and launched many of the successful Web based businesses at globeandmail.com. He was responsible for a host of other innovations in print and electronic media including; Fax Summary, Info Globe Online, ROB TV (BNN), The Globe and Mail – Classroom Edition and PointCast Canada. During this period he also worked as a senior business development executive for The Globe and Mail, Canada’s National Newspaper and created consumer strategies for The Globe’s parent company, the Thomson Corporation.
Michael was the Vice President of Operations and International Sales from 1982 to 1989 for a division of CA (formerly Pansophic Systems Inc., Oakbrook, Illinois). He worked on a global basis for CA in a software and system integration business that focussed on professional graphics, animation and decision support applications.
Shaul Swartz
– Sharepoint Infrastructure specialist
As co-founder of Adlure Media, Shaul’s focus is on the expansion and business operations in North America. Focusing on strategic industry partnerships and new product and service directions that support local markets, Shaul works ensures the company continues to grow and deliver value to customers as a leading managed service provider in Canada. He is a founding partner of Adlure Media and brings over 12 years of consulting experience in business process analysis, and technology integration and management to the team. He continues to work with organizations to enhance their business process through the implementation of complimentary technology He graduated from The University of Western Ontario, where he received a Bachelor of Engineering Science in 1992.
Eric Bogatie – Partner
Eric Bogatie has over twelve years of experience in the computer industry. Born and educated in South Africa, he completed his Honours degree in Electrical Engineering. Eric began his work career, working in the field of Process Control; his main project being the revamping of the process control systems for Steel Blast Furnace corporation. He moved to England in 1994, where he worked in the computer integration industry, consulting for the BBC. Upon immigrating to Canada, Eric joined the KTS Systems Group, in the capacity of systems integration specialist. Over the course of three years, Eric succeeded in transforming what was primarily a support department, into an entirely separate division, that generated Consulting and Support Revenues in excess of One-and-a-half million dollars. Eric left KTS in 1998, in order to form own company, ‘Integric Solutions’, the main focus being on Y2K and other consulting projects. In 2000 he merged with a company called, ‘Netkeepers’ to form ‘NI Solutions’. The company continues to focus on emerging technologies, outsourced managed services and security.
Irina Moroza – Technical Director
Irina has over 8 years of IT and Internet experience that includes web site development, multimedia development, database administration, product development, data communications and business analysis. She began her career as a computer programmer after her studies of Computer Science at the University of Latvia. As a senior developer for Adlure Media Irina extended her knowledge to e-commerce applications, .NET technology and project lead skills. Irina holds a Java 2 Programmer Certification and she is also an Advanced Certified Cold Fusion developer. She took a number of courses in .NET technology and project management to expand her skill set. Her passion besides her work is her family, volunteering and psychology, which she is currently studying at York University.
